Who is ForestCar?

ForestCar is a car sharing service for airports. We offer car owners free airport parking in exchange for renting out their vehicles while theyre away (similar to "airbnb for cars"). We are called ‘ForestCar’ because we invest a share of our revenues to plant trees in tropical rainforests.

There are three times as many cars parked at airports than rental cars. If people were able to share their cars while they are away, we could eliminate the need for dedicated rental cars.

At ForestCar our goal is to become the greenest car sharing service on the planet. We don’t just want to disrupt the rental industry, we want to use sharing as a force for tackling climate change.

The task ahead

We launched at Manchester Airport in January 2019. We had >100 signups in our first 4 weeks. We need support staff and customer service reps to help us provide our customers in Manchester with a fantastic service.

As one of our first site-based employees, you will be helping to lay the foundations for how we operate our airport parking sites. Initially we expect the work-load to amount to around 2-3 days per week, with the option to expand to a full-time role with greater responsibility as ForestCar grows.

Given the early stage of our business, we are looking for someone who is hungry to solve customer problems, who enjoys the prospect of working in a startup, and who can have a high degree of flexibility and autonomy (both in terms of working hours and actual day-to-day responsibilities).

The day-to-day

  • You’ll be working at our Manchester Site, located within the premises of APH, located near Manchester airport
  • You will work closely with the Charlie, the founder of ForestCar, to:
    • Meet customers and deal with daily car drop-offs and collections by owners and renters
    • Deal with site-based business processes around car inspections, cleaning, facilitating repairs, and other related support activities
    • Helping to manage our relationship with our parking partner and other on site staff
  • Youll be able to make a big impact on the business by identifying improvements in customer experience and operations, communicate these improvements to the team and then help implement them
  • Helping to provide a world-class customer service, answer any questions or queries that customers have and generally make our customers have a brilliant experience

About you:

  • You want to be a part of a young start-up company with high growth potential
  • Your customer service skills are fantastic
  • You’re willing to “get your hands dirty” in the initial months whilst we turn the operation into a well-oiled machine
  • You have gained experience in the car industry or you are comfortable with working with cars
  • You are based in Manchester
  • You can legally work in the UK and have a valid UK driver’s licence

We are primarily looking for someone with relevant experience, but recognise that brilliant people come from different backgrounds. So if you think you have what it takes, please get in touch!

  • 20,000 - 25,000 GBP pro-rata (i.e. 2-3 days per week) depending on experience
  • 28 leave days per year (including bank holidays)
