Deployment Engineer

full-time Cytora London

We are a high-growth FinTech startup using data and machine learning to revolutionise the insurance industry. Our products enable insurers to improve underwriting profitability, reduce expenses, while providing an astonishingly frictionless buying experience to their customers. The Cytora Risk Engine is integrated into the systems of some of the worlds top insurers, enabling them to move from an assumption based understanding of risk, to an instantly quantified, empirical, data-driven view.

The Role

As a Deployment Engineer you will own solutions from high level architecture and design through to application development and API level integrations. You are responsible for creating and presenting these solutions directly to Cytoras customers, gaining rare insight into some of the worlds largest insurers.

As a Deployment Engineer you will develop an understanding of our customers greatest pain points and design end-to-end solutions to address them by utilising the capabilities exposed by the Cytora Risk Engine and our wider suite of products. You will seek to close the feedback loop as quickly as possible, working closely with our customers as well as internal product managers, data scientists and core engineers to constantly iterate and improve our products.

Your day-to-day will include

  • Getting out of the building - interacting and embedding with customer teams to gain a deep understanding of their systems to enable solution design
  • Educating our clients how to best integrate with Cytora products to enable revolutionary customer journeys and better risk quantification using the Cytora Risk Engine
  • Designing integration solutions and architectures with our customers IT teams and assist them throughout the implementation phase
  • Capturing and analysing customer feedback on our products, analysing this information and feeding back into our customer driven feature backlog
  • Running and managing staging environments for customers prior to launch to ensure end to end systems are properly tested
  • Contributing to our test driven development engineering culture, peer reviewing colleagues work to ensure what we build is simple, reliable and self-documenting
  • Each week includes at least one opportunity to learn, typically in the form of a reading group with a presentation from across the company

What we are looking for in a candidate

  • Strong enterprise integration experience and an understanding of how enterprise IT projects operate
  • Good understanding of integration patterns and technology standards - HTTPS, REST, Data, SQL, Security
  • Familiarity with Python (or a similar language)
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage systems and cloud infrastructure

Bonus points:

  • Experience with common ETL / Integration tools used by Enterprise, e.g. Apache Camel, Mulesoft
  • Enterprise integration software, Airflow, TIBCO
  • We use Docker/Kubernetes for continuous integration, so familiarity with concepts around containerisation would be useful
  • Private Health Insurance
  • Pension Plan
  • Training & Development
  • Stock Options
