Finance Manager

full-time Pigzbe London

About us

We are looking for a highly-communicative and well organised Finance Manager to join our growing business, streamline our processes and supercharge our capabilities.

The Primo Group unlocks superpowers for 21st century families. We create educational toys encouraging children to learn through play and critically, helping families to connect.

Our products include Pigzbe and Cubetto, with more exciting things to come. Pigzbe is our hand-held ‘piggy-wallet’ teaching children 6 and up about 21st century money; Cubetto is our friendly wooden robot toy teaching coding to kids aged 3-6.

Together, we are a team of award-winning designers, thinkers and makers who have delivered products and services to millions of people for brands like Apple, Google, NASA and Kano to name a few.
We know the world is changing and our mission is to give families the tools to help children become financially knowledgeable, confident and independent.

About the opportunity

Reporting into and supporting our Head of Finance, you’ll be working with a nimble, transparent team of friendly founders and employees in our London HQ next to Old Street roundabout.

This is a newly created position and the right candidate will play a major role in helping to enforce and shape processes to improve reporting and efficiencies as Pigzbe grows to the next level through 2019.

You’ll be part of a real startup environment, with a competitive salary and excellent support for professional development and career progression.

A few things to keep you busy:

  • Understand the markets in which the business operates, their strategies, risks, products and key drivers of performance.
  • Lead the analysis of financial performance, MI, forecasts and contribute to regular monthly reporting to the Group management.
  • Manage and develop relationships with the business, helping to facilitate regular dialogue between divisional business management and the Group management.
  • Support response to analyst/investor queries and assisting in the external presentations of the businesses activities and results.
  • Analyse investment proposals, acquisitions and corporate projects, on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Qualified accountant ACA, CIMA or ACCA with a strong academic record
  • Previous experience in a similar role within financial services
  • Ideally, you’ll have experience working in a large financial services organisation and keen to take on more responsibility in a startup environment with lots of room to grow
  • You will have some exposure to project management and working on a project-basis
  • Excellent communicator and you consider yourself strong on the human side of finance
  • We’re a startup and always moving a million miles an hour, so the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is an absolute must

As a startup we are constantly improving our employee experience and the perks that come with the job. So far, we’ve put in the place the following, with more to come in 2019:

  • Late start on Mondays (10:30) & early finish on Fridays (16:00)
  • Work from home one day a week (Tue, Wed or Thu)
  • Regular internal meet-ups, show-and-tells
  • Weekly nibbles and drinks
  • Great coffee
  • 25 days holidays + public/bank holidays
  • Workplace Pension Scheme
  • Lots more to come
