Finance & Operations Intern - Full Time

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised Finance & Operations Intern to help support our Finance and Ops team as we build towards the launch of our upcoming mobile app and catalogue of new print products. You will assist our Business Manager with a wide variety of operational & financial tasks - from metric reporting to print operations, along with supporting the release of new products, customer service & financial analysis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic startup environment and gain experience across a wide variety of tasks such as:

Print & Business Operations

  • Working with our print production team to ensure smooth running of our print operations
  • Gathering quotes from printers and distributors and work with the Finance and Ops team to establish cost effectiveness
  • Liaising with the print product team to bring new products to market at global scale
  • Helping customer service, marketing and operations teams to ensure a high quality customer experience
  • Maintaining and ensuring we implement best practice with trademarking, copyright, and ISBN requirements

Finance & Accounting

  • Building & maintaining reporting tools to help the Head of Finance understand performance across the Mrs Wordsmith sales channels
  • Working with the Finance & Accounting team to resolve accounting & finance tasks
  • Analysing & conducting research on various topics as the business faces new challenges

About you

  • Degree educated
  • Highly numerate with an ability to bring an analytical mindset to operational processes
  • Comfortable working with Excel and able to pick up other technologies as you go
  • Highly organised and able to manage your own time based on the projects you have
  • Flexible and looking to understand and work across multiple areas of the business
  • Previous experience with finance roles, the mobile app industry or the publishing industry would be advantageous
