Background:

Moonshot CVE is a startup which specialises in countering violent extremism. We use

data-proven techniques to ensure our clients respond to violent extremism effectively

( http://moonshotcve.com ). Our work ranges from software development and digital

capacity-building to leading global counter-messaging campaigns.

The position:

We are looking for an analyst who is fluent in French, ideally with an understanding of

Quebecois French, to conduct open-source research and contribute to our corporate

knowledge on violent extremism in Canada. The role will include the following

responsibilities:

● Open-source research on social media, forums, video hosting sites and other online

sites related to violent extremist activity in Canada;

● Identification and collation of violent extremist terms and concepts in French.

The consultant can work at Moonshot CVE’s offices in London or with our team based in Ottawa, Canada. This is a short term

consultancy for a minimum of ten days, with the possibility of an extension dependent on

project needs.

Minimum requirements:

• Experience conducting online research
• Knowledge of violent extremist movements, preferably in Canada
• Fluency in French (written and spoken), preferably Quebecois French
• Great organizational skills and ability to work with tight deadlines
