Facebook did an amazing job at creating the social identity. LinkedIn created the professional identity. Scoodle? We’re creating the teaching identity.


What youll be doing:

As a frontend engineer at Scoodle youll work in a small, autonomous product squad alongside mobile engineers, backend engineers, a designer and a product manager.

Your focus will be to help build a pixel-perfect front-end experience for Scoodle on web that our students and teachers will love.

Working at a funded startup, you will be working directly towards building Scoodles vision in every line of code you write. As a team we do our best to think about how every feature and decision fits into our wider goals, rather than getting stuck in the weeds. Youll have the opportunity to have impact on both what we build, and how we build it.

The engineering team spends regularly meet to discuss tools, techniques and innovative solutions to our tech problems where we work together to improve our codebase and processes. There is no limit and all ideas are welcome. Our mission is to help you develop and grow as an engineer.


What were using:

Scoodle has a couple of services and applications in production. For our web front-end we run a state of the art isomorphic React application. We build with the latest tools, our web app runs on ES2018, React, Redux, NodeJS, Express, Webpack, Jest and SCSS.

What were looking for:

  • Youre a frontend engineer with strong product sensibilities. You care about the impact your work has on students and teachers, and optimise for impact rather than the number of lines of code you output.
  • You have experience building production-scale front-ends with JavaScript and can easily explain the intricacies of what youve built.
  • You have used React or another front-end framework and understand the trade-offs between different technologies.
  • You are looking for an opportunity to build something that users love.

You should apply if:

  • Have an understanding of the principles of computer science
