The Product team sit at the heart of Mojo and we’re on the lookout for a Head of Product Designer. You’ll be working on a strategic level directly with the CPO and lead design across all of our product development squads. You’ll also be expected to nail execution and your day will be made up of 90% of actual design and discovery. If you’re not into getting your hands dirty, then we’re not for you.

We’re looking for somebody that wants to showcase their talent and design products to be admired. You’ll be part of a very talented team, solving a real problem, in a high-growth start-up and your creations will be setting the benchmark in mortgage fintech.

The design team is small and our design philosophy is consistent and simple. We believe there are no boundaries between aesthetics and functionality, and no border between user interface design and customer experience. That’s why you’ll do the research, figure out the user experience, execute, spec the tickets for QA and dev as well as UAT the design implementation. You’ll also be tasked with building out a design system from the ground-up.

What you’ll do

Create Product experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant

Work closely with CPO, CEO and Product team to turn new broad ideas and customer problems into something useful and valuable for thousands of users

Create design artefacts like mockups, user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas

Contribute to defining our brand style and how this is shapes our Product design

Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product team

Collaborate effectively with developers and QA to build and ship the real product solutions

Work closely with the product team to optimise the product solutions and iterate on them to enhance them for business and for the users

3+ years of experience in designing world-class complex commercial products

Strong design skills across mobile and web platforms, with knowledge of google material design and iOS human interface design principles

The ability to think at a high level about product strategy

Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate design decisions

Experience working closely with engineers and software cultures

Experience working in agile approach

The ability to take ownership of design process and work as self-directed member of the development team

Broad knowledge of design tools

Strong, clean visual design sense Strong skills in typography and grids

Must have a portfolio featuring examples of product design work
