We’re looking for a superstar Junior Accountant to join our fast-growing proptech business. StayBeyond transforms homes to unlock their full potential, helping vendors sell faster and for more. We’re not your average interior design or staging company - we host hand selected guests in our homes while they are on the market. We see hundreds of guests, gallons of paint, dozens of fresh flowers, and a hotel’s worth of fresh sheets move through our portfolio of homes each week. The finance team oversees all of the business operations, from security deposits, to revenue projections, to the annual shampoo budget. They’re an integral part of our success, and the team is growing to meet the demand placed on it as we scale.

In this role, the Junior Accountant will support the Finance Manager and work on all aspects of the business’ accounting cycle. They’ll assist with the reconfiguration of current processes and controls, as well as ad hoc requests on an as needed basis. As a Finance Team member you will have broad exposure to varied business functions including revenue management, onboarding, logistics/warehousing, operations and property management.

  • Partner with internal teams including Operations, Sales, Logistics and various business partners to define, establish and implement accounting systems, processes and procedures
  • Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralise, eliminate, automate or outsource activities
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Complete all month end processing work to enable the preparation of month end reports for the business
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc.

Who you are:

You have a 2:1 Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting or finance, and a year or more under your belt working full-time in an accounting role.

You’re methodical, pay attention to the little details, and love playing with data. You have a keen eye for inefficiencies and know how to make recommendations when you spot them. You’ve got a good grasp of time management, especially with multiple competing priorities.

What you have:

Top notch Excel skills - Intermediate to Advanced knowledge is required. You’re familiar with common accounting software, and if you’ve used Xero before that’s a huge plus.

You’ve got solid presentation skills and can communicate effectively. You recognise when things are urgent and give them the right amount of energy and commitment. You like working with people towards a common goal. You take feedback seriously, and offer it respectfully.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • We offer life and medical insurance to all full-time employees.
  • Our office is in a WeWork building, so there’s all the free micro-brew coffee and beer you can drink.
  • There are free exercise classes, lectures, and happy hours every week.
  • You get to hang out with our fantastic team in a dog friendly office.
  • We have monthly team building events and Friday drinks.
  • You get to stay in any of our 150+ homes across 8 cities in the UK for free. Seriously. Free.
  • And, because we’re growing quickly, you’ll be a pioneering member of the team with a fast track to leadership as the scaling continues. You’ll support the department’s expansion, roles, goals, and successes.

About StayBeyond

Despite being the biggest decision anyone makes, the experience of buying and selling a home hasnt changed in decades. Buyers struggle to imagine themselves living in a home that is empty or in need of a refresh, which means it takes longer for vendors to sell, and often sale prices are dropped significantly. The whole experience needs shaking up for buyers and sellers alike, and that’s where we come in. StayBeyond is a team of design, property-management and hospitality professionals and we have made it our business to be the experts when it comes to designing homes that are made to sell.

Over the last five years we have transformed 150 properties and hosted over 60,000 guests (and counting) in our unique portfolio of homes.

From working closely with landlords in the rental market, it was clear that there was huge potential to bring our home transformation expertise to the for-sale market, and provide a service that makes sure vendors can get the most value out of their home sale.

We create spaces that are designed to be lived in; we inspire moments of ‘this feels like home’, ultimately helping vendors sell faster and for more. We are home experience experts.
