The Bridge unit within TomTom creates products that are aimed at customers who want to use the TomTom platform to develop their own core business application(s) and at the same time interact with our state-of-the-art navigation software. We work on advanced hardware and come up with innovative in-vehicle solutions for our B2B customers. This is a very competitive market in which good and innovative ideas make all the difference.
You will be responsible for managing an application development team in an Agile environment, where the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications is essential. The team consists of 10 people: developers, testers, a product owner and an architect. They work as an agile team and are responsible for backlog, development, hardware support, testing, customer/developer documentation, release and sales support for the full product range.
Strong communication and team work capabilities are as important as superb technical skills in this role.
Here's a taste of your challenge:
Develop and build the team: attract, recruit and retain capable individuals
Define and align departmental vision and strategy; clarify the mission and purpose of the team in line with that vision; support the teams in executing their mission and eliminate impediments
Help individuals to continuously learn and develop themselves (collect, provide and help to interpret feedback); decide on fair compensation, benefits and promotions.
Assist the teams and the release manager to continuously improve the way of working; stimulate collaboration within the team and with other teams
Technical contact person for our products
Manage product releases and software updates
Support the business with pre/post sales technical support
Engage directly, when required, with customers ensuring a professional interface at all times
Create a safe and employee friendly environment; where productivity, quality, transparency and openness are valued, ensuring TomTom values
Provide an open and transparent communication channel between employees and higher management
Evaluate the team’s performance against stakeholder expectations, identify risks and corrective actions and report to higher management
What we expect from you
Passion for delivering the best user experience possible to our business customers
Experience with development processes for embedded systems – hardware and software with strong knowledge of Android
Strong people management, collaboration and coordination skills
Self-driven and curiosity in mindset
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
