Operations Manager

full-time Wonderbly London

Wonderbly is growing incredibly fast which brings huge opportunities, but also operational challenges. Our existing and new 2019 product roadmaps are exciting in terms of both the volume and diversity of products - and this will bring complexity which the Ops needs to manage to ensure a smooth manufacturing and supply chain process. Our current operation manufactures at 8 locations globally and ships to over 175 countries worldwide.


Role overview

General

● Managing and overseeing complex and / or numerous third party operational relationships

● Executing the operational plan (making and delivering millions of products to customers)


Industrial engineering

● Product design, product labelling, safety certification

● Acting as a liaison between the Product Design Team, and the Manufacturing Partners

● Packaging design

● Making recommendations for process improvements in mass manufacturing


Contractual / commercial

● Negotiating and driving cost reductions

● Supporting tender processes

● Creating, implementing and monitoring KPI and SLA’S

● Making commercial arguments / decision making based on numbers (very strong commercial reasoning)


Analysis and communication skills

● Analysis (moderate to advanced user of excel or google sheets)

● SQL a big bonus

● Creating and delivering presentations

● Creating and presenting management summaries

● Creating and managing materials planning tools and or Ready Reckoners


Supply chain

● Overseeing materials planning / merchandising

● Managing stock control procedures (e.g. managing to weeks cover, pi or cycle counts, loss adjustments etc)

● Freight forwarding and management of international materials movements

● Negotiating international freight prices (sea and air)

● Managing customs clearance and carrier management


Manufacturing

● Introducing and overseeing process improvements

● Quality Management

● Negotiating finished unit / manufacturing prices


Buying

● Purchasing across Europe and Asia


● Proven work experience working in Supply Chain / Ops environment

● Experience working with 3P logistics or manufacturing partners (preferable)

● Experience working in a B2C e-commerce environment (preferable)

● Used to / happy working in a fast paced / dynamic business

● Used to / happy working in a business that has seasonal demands on the physical operations (e.g. Q4 business)

● Comfortable dealing with, and managing, conflict

● Comfortable, travelling in UK and internationally

● Full driver’s licence (great, but not essential)

● Educated to degree level (great, but not essential)
