This is an opportunity to join Faculty as an HR generalist, helping to grow our business by supporting a dynamic, scalable people experience. You will support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to performance management and alumni engagement. In addition to overseeing our core HR operations, you will work hand-in-hand with the Head of People Experience to develop and implement Faculty’s people strategy. This job is about more than feeling passionate about people -- it is about understanding how to use HR to unlock business value and growth.
Why Faculty is right for you:
We are a world leader in data science, machine learning and AI. Our mission is to build AI capability to help tackle the world’s toughest business and social challenges. Founded in 2014 as ASI Data Science, we are now Faculty, a company of more than 70 based in Marylebone, London. In the next year, we look to continue our growth trajectory. We look for driven, thoughtful, collaborative team players who are relentless in their pursuit of our mission and are excited to be part of our journey to build a great organisation. By joining Faculty you will get to:
- Join a small and growing team
- Enjoy a competitive salary
- Have ownership of your work and enjoy the impact you create
- Work alongside exceptional and lovely people
- Engage in interesting and challenging work and the opportunity to make the role your own
- Have equity in a rapidly growing, funded start-up
- Have ownership of your time with unlimited holiday and support for flexible working
- Work in an environment that is extremely supportive for anyone who’s keen to learn and improve
Your responsibilities:
As our People Experience Assistant, you will be joining the Operations Team. At Faculty, this team is responsible for enabling our growth by attracting the worlds best talent, scaling the business, ensuring we remain financially stable and fostering our unique culture.
You’ll work closely with our Head of People Experience to build and deliver services that support Faculty’s ambitious growth agenda. Your key responsibility will be to manage our core HR operations so that they work for our business and our people. In addition, you’ll be able to provide day-to-day input into our people strategy, shaping the way we recruit, retain, coach and reward our people. Ultimately, our success as a business relies on the success of our people as individuals, which means your role in our Operations Team is essential to Faculty’s success.
As a rapidly growing organisation, roles are dynamic and subject to change. Your role will evolve alongside business needs, but you can expect your key responsibilities to include:
- Managing our core HR processes: maintaining our HR systems, overseeing our contracts process and serving as the point of contact for Visa applications for our international employees
- Spearheading our recruitment process and serving as the link between our applicants and the wider business
- Trialling, evaluating and scaling up new ideas to enhance our people experience, working hand-in-hand with our Head of People Experience to foster our unique Faculty culture
- Addressing the inevitable people-related challenges that come with Faculty’s ambitious growth agenda
- Orchestrating the performance review cycle for Faculty to enable our people to capitalise on their strengths and improve their development areas
Attitudes and behaviours we expect:
- You are passionate about the commercial power of HR and are driven to help create an employee experience that empowers our people and drives sustainable business growth
- You are articulate and able to be an effective link between HR and the rest of the business
- You push yourself to achieve, learn and improve rather than standing still and aiming for “good enough”
- You take the time to do things right rather than overlooking the details provided the big picture is fine
- You take initiative when faced with ambiguity rather than waiting for clear instructions before starting something new
- You roll your sleeves up and muck in to get things done rather than waiting for someone else to fix it
- You take ownership of your mistakes and see them as an opportunity to learn, rather than playing it safe or pretending mistakes and failures didn’t happen
You need to have the right to work full time in the UK.
