Start-up date: immediately, preferably May 2019

Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension

Location: Prague, Czech Republic


Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

- The Project Coordinator will work to implement, monitor and evaluate PIN Human Rights and Democracy Centre’s projects in the post-Soviet region (focused on human rights, support of independent media) and to contribute to the Centre’s overall strategy

- Work with senior project manager to ensure close collaboration with other PIN programs and to identify opportunities for complementary programming

- Maintain communication with potential and existing partners, grantees, monitor supported projects during the whole project cycle incl. field visits

- Organize capacity building activities (workshops, internships) or public events

- Draft / Evaluate project proposals, reports

- Collaborate with financial manager on project spending and financial reporting

- Build and maintain relationships with partner organisations and donors

Candidate Profile:

- Master’s degree in international affairs, political/social sciences, international development, human rights, relevant area studies/languages and/or other related discipline

- At least one year of progressively responsible experience working in a relevant field (preferably NGO sector, international organisations);

- Extensive knowledge of current issues, actors and dynamics concerning civil society, media lanscape and human rights in the post-Soviet region, particularly Russia, Ukraine;

- Fluency in Russian and English;

- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills;

- Ability to work under stress, follow projects through to completion, with strict deadlines and without loss of attention to detail, budget and reporting.

- Effectively work independently and as a team member, ability to work closely with colleagues abroad, self-motivation and ability to set and meet goals.
