Social Constructionism is a learning-centred approach that prioritises exploring, making and iterating real-life STEAM projects in a social, collaborative way. Our award-winning pi-top laptop and pi-topCEED desktop computers are powered by the Raspberry Pi and come with a host of projects and accessories which allow any teacher, regardless of their computer literacy, to design fun and engaging lessons across STEAM subjects and beyond. Learners are empowered to work together, at their own pace, designing and refining their inventions by asking questions and ultimately Learning by Making.

Since our founding in 2014, we have built a strong global community of teachers and makers who constantly shape our worksheets, lesson plans and content. We provide access to hundreds of hours of educational resources for the Computer Science (CS) and STEAM curriculum that improves digital literacy.

The role:

pi-top are looking to fill a newly created position within the business. This role will involve working closely with our Supply Chain team to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained, supporting the sales team through processing sales orders, and acting as a 1st Line / 2nd Line Helpdesk Support agent to provide excellent customer service across all aspects of the business and fundamentally to pi-top customers globally. You will also participate in company-wide projects that support changing business and IT requirements by providing technical support/input to site and team projects.

pi-top will offer time and resources for training and to get up to speed with the latest technologies, however having a genuine interest in technology is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process sales orders and sample shipments and ensure stock movement records are accurately maintained
  • Collate and summarise forecast data
  • Receive and log customer service desk queries and problems, maintaining good records of both the issue and the solution(s) within agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Work closely with our UK and US warehouses to ensure global inventory levels are maintained
  • Liaise with our UK and US sales teams to understand stock requirements for orders. This will include managing local reworks of stock in our warehouses where necessary
  • Manage the relationship with our UK and US repair centers and maintaining adequate inventory of spare parts
  • Manage ad-hoc projects
  • Strong organisational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced startup environment
  • Sharp talented individuals, looking to grow quickly within their careers with an appetite to learn
  • Resilient – you can talk through examples of working to solve problems under pressure
  • Proactive problem-solving skills – you are someone who can provide and communicate simple solutions to complex problems, and can accurately explain it to all levels within the business
  • Ability to prioritise and take responsibility for your own workload
  • Excellent communication skills are key
  • You are comfortable providing new ideas and asking questions such as “Why are we doing it this way?” “Is this the best way to do it?”
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Experience using excel is beneficial
