An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Sales Manager to join our London office to sell sponsorship opportunities whilst managing a sales executive. Working alongside the Portfolio Director and Sales Director, the Sales Manager is a functional role ensuring that the sales operation operates at its most efficient in terms of resourcing, performance, motivation and skill sets.

Having seen huge growth from 974 visitors in 2017 to 3540 visitors in our 2018 event this Confex model event has ambitious plans to grow to over 5000 delegates.

The Role

In line with our growth expectations of the event around the World, the Sales Manager will become an integral part of the team in reaching this goal. Having been involved in exhibition sales with tech event experience a plus, you will be in the main driving new business to the event. This business will come from the world’s most exciting and innovative tech companies. From established tech giants to the latest tech start-ups, from global consultancy firms to national pavilions, this role offers endless scope and opportunity. As the portfolio grows so will this role and will therefore offer fast tracked career progression for the right candidates.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sell space and sponsorship opportunities as part of a team in order to create £1.3m revenue event
  • Drive the sales ex prom campaigns across Blockchain Live portfolio
  • Ensure that all targets are met, and KPI’s adhered to
  • Drive new business to the portfolio
  • Manage sales executive
  • Run the day-to-day training and management and appraisals of the sales team
  • Responsible for weekly/monthly sales targets confirmed Portfolio Director
  • Continually recruit, train, motivate and develop sales team
  • Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in events
  • Provide quarterly results assessments of sales staff’s productivity
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Director to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines
  • Hold daily/weekly sales meetings with sales team.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a Sales Manager managing exhibition and/or conference model events
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, changing environment (preferably in the events/conference arena)
  • Significant experience in sales with a demonstrated successful sales record of high value sales activity in a B2B environment
  • Experience of working within the tech events space is a plus
  • A hunger to reach and exceed targets
  • A tenacious ‘can do’ approach to work
  • Strong people management experience and skills
  • Be able to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels across the business
  • Must be professional, resilient, approachable, diligent, and have a flexible approach to work
  • Excellent organisation and time keeping skills
  • A burning desire to be the best
