Sales & Operations Intern

full-time ExpoCart London

We’re looking to hire a Sales & Operations Intern for a 6 month paid internship, with the aim of progressing the successful candidate to a permanent position at the end of the internship.

Based in East London, this is a fantastic opportunity to become a key member of our team in an ambitious, tech start-up in the events and exhibition industry. You will be responsible for converting our ever increasing volume of inbound enquiries such as phone calls, emails, live chats and quote requests into closed deals. This is a B2B role and you will be speaking with companies and exhibitors about their exhibition and event requirements.

We’re seeking a diligent, customer-centric and driven Sales & Operations Intern to work closely with our sales and operations teams to generate as much inbound revenue as possible and to help shape the next phase of ExpoCart so if you want to see your efforts make an immediate impact then this role is for you and we’d love to hear from you!

ExpoCart is on a mission to simplify the way companies find and order event equipment for their exhibition stands and events throughout the UK. Through our e-commerce marketplace, we’ve been creating the simplest and most convenient way to source equipment through our extensive network of trusted event suppliers.

Companies can choose from a curated range of products including furniture, payment systems, props to audio visual equipment and graphics all in one place enabling them to seamlessly order everything they need for their exhibitions and events.

Your role

Part of a small and dedicated team, you’ll have the chance to hit the ground running and take full ownership for your own sales pipeline since you’ll be responsible for speaking with our inbound customers, new and returning, and closing their business.

To excel in this role, you will be expected to be a self-starter, highly organised and charismatic salesperson with a willingness to go above and beyond to help the business grow.

  • Have a passion for sales or want to start a career in sales, business development or account management
  • A desire to work in small teams and a start up environment
  • You have an insatiable drive to succeed and obsessive about achieving results!
  • You have excellent written skills and can write personable, persuasive and professional emails
  • You have a natural ability to persistently motivate yourself and others by being a great team player!
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong IT skills & a willingness to learn new systems including CRM systems and dashboards as you’ll be expected to juggle multiple tools
  • Show commercial awareness and are goal oriented
  • Capacity to multi-task and think on your feet
  • Fluency in at least 1 other European language such as French, German, Spanish, Dutch or Italian is a plus but not essential
  • £15k - £18k Basic Salary + Uncapped Commissions
  • After 6 month internship look to progress to full time permanent position
