This is a true HR generalist role partnering with a fast growing entrepreneurial team so the role will be key in shaping our cultures and values.

The person will also be expected to help shape the broader HR and People strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the business to manage cyclical HR processes, including the bi-annual performance process, including performance score moderation, and on going employee engagement survey. (eNPS)
  • Build the capability of managers through strong coaching and mentoring for them to maximise potential and consistently raise the bar on performance.
  • Champion and help set the culture of Velocity from the top down.
  • Manage all employee relations issues within the business area supporting and guiding managers on complex people issues.
  • Partner with managers within their business area to proactively manage employee engagement
  • Provide advice to the business area on organisational design and re-structuring, supporting the implementation and embedding of changes.
  • Be able to get your hands dirty, sweating the small admin heavy duties as well as the larger strategic projects.
  • Extensive HR generalist experience with strong bias towards talent management and retention as the team is going through a period of high growth.
  • Excellent relationship building and facillitation skills with employees of all levels.
  • Commercial and results focused, with the ability to quickly get up to speed on business strategies and understand how people plans need to align with these.
  • Ability to work in an environment of change and ambiguity at times
  • UK & US knowledge would be beneficial
  • Ability to positively challenge and influence managers within the business and partner them in delivering business results.
  • Experience in a smaller, fast moving entrepreneurial company, start up experience would be a plus.
  • Agile and flexible with a flair for value-add project work outside of business as usual.

  • Some experience of leading, designing and implementing organisational change in partnership with the business.
  • Employment law expertise to guide and support managers in employee relations issues and terminations.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills; able to multi-task and work under pressure remaining professional and calm.
  • Professional and engaging manner. Empathy yet resilience under assertive challenge
  • Must be comfortable in using technology and leveraging digital applications and media platforms.
