About US
Our mission
We are building a technology platform with which we hope to revolutionise the care industry. Vida aims to provide a holistic circle of care connecting all stakeholders; enhancing the quality of care by empowering our clients, their next-of-kin and our carers. We also focus heavily on our carers, investing in up-skilling them and ensuring they get remunerated well – this directly transfers into the quality of care our clients receive.

Our platform
In order to deliver end-to-end care we are building a suite of tools to schedule, manage & monitor our care visits. This includes mobile apps for clients, their next-of-kin and our carers and a back office system for our operators.
Our stack
We are riding on a typical Rails 5 stack - Ruby 2.3, PostgreSQL & Redis running on Heroku. We make use of jobs, form objects, decorators & filter views. For the front-end we use SLIM templates & Semantic-UI as a base for CSS, Javascript is used for enhancements. On the API side we're using activemodel-serializers. Tests are written in rspec/capybara.
Our process
We represent our work on a Kanban board in JIRA and focus on having a good degree of contact between the development & design teams to ensure everyone is clear on what's being built. We expect developers to have ownership of their work from start to finish, this means having autonomy to solve problems and deliver functionality into production in a timely manner. We use pull requests & Heroku review apps to obtain feedback from our peers. Testing is important to us and we cover feature happy paths with integration tests, use unit tests for other components and aim for test value over % coverage. We also use rubocop, slim-lint & jscs to keep the code tidy and encourage developers to use overcommit locally.

You should have three or more years commercial experience writing Rails apps be available to work onsite in our offices near Victoria, London. We are looking for self-starters who enjoy collaborating to achieve our common goals. Experience with our current stack is preferred but not essential.
