Senior UX Designer

full-time Tradeshift Copenhagen
Does complexity, ambition and big visions fuel your designer-mind? Can you take design lead in both business discussions as well as technical discussions? Then we may have one of the most compelling UX design positions available for you, right in the center of Copenhagen.

As a Senior UX Designer in Tradeshift you’re responsible for driving your product team(s) safely through design challenges. This encompasses all phases from initial strategy and product ideation to final implementation and launch. This requires you to be experienced in both concept generation, UI architecture, prototyping and delivering implementation-ready designs. Your ability to work with personas and do field testing with actual and potential end-users will also come handy when validating different approaches to designs.

By connecting companies of all sizes and providing them with the platform, network and tools needed to develop apps, communicate in real-time and create value from old processes like invoicing, payments and workflow, Tradeshift is redefining an enterprise space that has seen little change in many years. We recognize that business is messy and business is social. Understanding these two facts drives the development of Tradeshift.

Shaking up an industry like Tradeshift is doing, and having some of the world’s biggest companies onboard their vast supply-chains to our global platform, puts a heavy focus on usability and the quality of the user experience. Critical to your and our success are our ultimate skills in transforming needs from business and users into solutions that will help end-users achieve their goals and complete tasks.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
    • You will be part of one or more product teams in Copenhagen, each consisting of 3-5 developers, a product manager and you, the UX designer
    • You will work with other designers to establish platform design principles and extend our UI design guidelines
    • You will be working with experts on the business side as well as actual and potential end-users to validate design decisions
    • You will be working with your teams’ developers to make sure the teams provide a world class quality of user experience
    • You will work with high level conceptual sketching as well as high-fidelity prototypes as part of defining user flows and experiences
ABOUT YOU:
    • Proven work experience in the field. However, we care more about the quality of your recent work than your ability to show you did great design in the 90s
    • You have experience and success in working with teams of developers building products/services with complex requirements
    • You have a structured and analytical approach to your work (=you don’t do hit-n-miss cowboy style design, but actually have a plan for reaching the finish line)
    • Knowledge of web technologies – you don’t get scared when people talk about REST APIs, databases, client-side templating, responsive design, etc. We don’t need you to be a developer, but you’ll spend a ton of time with developers, so some common ground is required
    • You speak and write English fluently
    • A formal, educational background in design is an advantage
    • Some actual web development skills will come in handy for your prototypes (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, PHP, other)
