So what’s the gig?
You’ll be responsible for managing supply chain strategies; utilizing market, industry and supplier knowledge to identify strengths/weaknesses/opportunities/threats with clear actionable initiatives to address them.
This will include managing a network of Supply Chain Partners, ensuring they provide the highest level of service for Participants and meet / exceed the contractual minimum expectations for performance and service standards.
It’s also an exciting opportunity to introduce new stock Merchandising methods and make a significant difference by leading a new trading culture across the business, helping Eve to evolve, as it grows in scale. This includes:
- Creating merchandising strategies and plans that support:
- The sales plans for each country
- Overall product and range offering
- New SKU & Category launch plans
- Forecasting sales and profit for all categories.
- Managing day to day trading to support the marketing campaigns & merchandising plans
- Coordinating ordering to ensure customer lead time targets are met within agreed spending limits
- Ensuring the quality of the inventory is maximized
- Work with key suppliers to improve product availability and speed to market.
Day to day stuff
Reporting to the operations director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supply Chain Management:
- Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
- Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.
- Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
- Future-proof the Supply Chain to ensure scalability for current and future growth
- Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
- Supplier Collaboration /Forecast:
- Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
- Negotiating supply contract terms and service level agreements.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as NPD, quality, logistics to identify or qualify new suppliers.
- Building and maintaining good strategic relationships with key supply partners, links with contacts at different levels.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
- Build up strong relationships with key suppliers, arranging regular meetings.
- Management and review to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback against KPI targets.
- Collaborate with major suppliers by sharing production forecasts.
- To generate a Sales volume plan for all product categories considering sales team input, trend data and SKU requirements.
- Create forecasts that provide our suppliers with the ability to plan their production, update on a forward rolling basis with the objective of reducing ordering lead time and improving reliability.
- Work with the markets to improve the forecast accuracy and service levels to our customers.
- Leading S&OP meetings with Senior Management.
- Manage order quantities & frequency within both business needs & factory capability & efficiency levels
- Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
- Analyzing factors affecting costs, negotiate any attempted price rises, watch commodity costs.
- Identifying areas with potential for savings, research alternatives and run pricing exercises to find ways of increasing sustainable profits.
- Identifying and analyzing new business opportunities, metrics, key performance indicators, and risks.
- Initiate action plans to drive continuous improvement, and provide appropriate KPI measures.
- Merchandising
Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality
- Generate reports for management review.
- Participate with Inventory team in the regular forecasting of sales and inventories through the OTB review process.
- Minimizing the discrepancies between inventory projections and inventory tracking, to improve quality control.
Build and lead the stock merchandising strategy & implementation plan
- That supports individual country sales, category and marketing plans
- That provides support for identified key lines
- Supports all new SKU and range activities.
Accountable for delivering consistent customer lead time targets
- Through a rigorous forecasting and ordering process
- Ensuring consistent availability of key performing products
- Ensuring we offer a good balanced range selection
- Within agreed OTB stock and purchasing targets Support the introduction of new SKUs, ranking potential to maximize sales, to a challenging and fast to market launch calendar.
Stock management; ensuring overall stock is healthy so maximizing sales and cash investment
- Accountable for delivering targeted stock levels across all countries and warehouses
- Accountable for delivering targeted levels and calibre of stock
- Maximising best our seller’s performance
- Analysing trends in sales, price points, formats, colours and product groups and their impact on future activities, communicating this internally to ensure actions are timely to maximise ranges full potential & manage risk
- Devise ways to get more efficiency from stock investments always measuring and reacting quickly to fast rates of sale to ensure there is no loss of sales potential.
Improve stock availability and reduce cash commitment through planning with key suppliers
- Forward SKU planning to reduce lead times and make ETAs more reliable
- Collaborate with major suppliers by sharing production forecasts, updating on a forward rolling basis
- Manage order quantities & frequency within both business needs & factory capability & efficiency levels
- Just in Time ordering approach
Coordinate company Stock Merchandising activities
- Through a weekly Trading meeting involving all key stakeholders
- Coo Supporting marketing campaigns, by working with the country managers to plan ahead ensuring that promotions have adequate stock to meet sales expectations, but also challenging when the plans cannot be delivered within the stock spending targets.
- Management
Lead and develop the team of planners to build their commercial understanding and market awareness and improve their processes and communication, internal and external.
What you’ll have (skills)
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:
- Relevant qualification in Supply chain
- 5 years + supply chain/merchandising experience in business such as E-Commerce, Retail
(customer focused environment)
- 2 years +project management skills
- Advanced design and working knowledge of S&OP
- Forecasting
- Strong planning, and inventory management ability
- Materials Replenishment Planning
- Order Processing
- Highly analytical with solid numerical reasoning skills and the ability to manage large quantities of data and develop meaningful and insightful business/management reports.
- A track record of creating and implementing KPIs and continuous improvement projects e.g. availability, stock and inventory days.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes or Methods
- Good Contracts/Negotiation skills and knowledge
- Cost Reduction/Analysis
