You will be coming into a green field environment, so you need to be comfortable with creating and outlining a strategy for application development support.
As a Systems/DevOps Administrator at hiber, your typical day will look like this:
- Day-to-day infrastructure operations in dynamic on premises and AWS environments
- Maintain customer facing, mission critical 24/7 production systems
- Work with software developers to execute deployments of hibers suite of applications
- Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot systems, networks and applications
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance and upgrades, including VM patching and replacement
- Review and maintain monitoring systems for both infrastructure and applications
- Provide infrastructure level support for Production, Development, and QA environments
- Drive IT best practices for operational policies and procedures, including communication, change and incident management
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and consultation with vendors for purchases, services, and support
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of experience with Linux system administration, deployment, configuration, and management
- 2+ years of hands on experience implementing, configuring, maintaining, and optimising cloud-based environments (AWS preferred)·
- Experience in a DevOps-oriented environment, supporting both production and Dev/QA
- Proficient with shell scripting and/or a programming language such as Ruby or Python
- Proficiency in setting up, configuring, and maintaining system, application, and network monitoring tools
- Experience in setting up application performance and up-time monitoring
- A strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals and network security
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work well in a dynamic, collaborative team environment
- Ability to create automation utilities around RESTful APIs/web services
- Experience with one or more configuration management frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, Salt or Ansible
- Experience with Android OS
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, and /or virtualization platforms like VMWare and Citrix XenServer
- Experience with configuration and administration of the Atlassian tool suite
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
- Experience with version management tools, preferably Git with Gerrit. We’d love:
