Peak Labs is recruiting a User Research Specialist to support the Brand Director and the Product and Content teams.

This hire will develop a deep understanding of our users on the micro and macro level using quantitative and qualitative techniques according to their needs. They will run one-to-one sessions with users to understand their experience of the products we make, to recognise the motivations behind actions and to deep-dive into customer frustrations. They will also operate larger studies with groups of users over longer periods of time to understand brand experience and to get to the bottom of why our customers use our products and what value they get from them.

Owning the full workflow – from recruitment through to testing and reporting – this person will add value to the business from day one, increasing our understanding of our most valuable asset: our customers. The ideal candidate will be obsessed by user behaviour and have experience running small and medium sized studies. They will be detail oriented, a strong communicator and have demonstrable knowledge of the latest methodologies of user research.


  • Work with internal and external resources to recruit subjects – both potential and existing users – to work with.
  • Arrange and operate regular qualitative and quantitative research to support Product and Brand teams in answering their questions about users.
  • Run regular surveys to users to understand user’s perception and experience of our Products and Brand.
  • Report and share all results with Product, Brand and other teams.
  • Identify key user stories from interviews that can be used by Brand team to better tell the product story on multiple channels.
  • Advocate for research in the company and help set up processes to embed it in our product culture.


  • Strong interest in wellness / self-care products
  • Extremely organised and detail orientated with a bias towards numbers.
  • A passion for combining quantitative and qualitative research to create powerful portraits of users
  • Creative and willing to find innovative approaches to complex problems
  • Be comfortable in a startup environment. We move fast and things change so you need to be adaptable, fast moving and have a bias for action.
  • Extremely detail oriented and obsessed about the small things.
  • Great time management skills
  • 2 - 3 years experience in related field
  • Experience running quantitative and qualitative surveys and / or focus groups.
  • Great at converting stats and figures into stories with meaning
  • Keen understanding of user experience and eager to ask questions to find out more
  • Extremely comfortable creating powerpoints and presenting to key stakeholders.
