Hey, we’re Bud.

We’re hiring a Visual Designer.

Bud is an award-winning tech startup in a phase of rapid growth. Our app platform gives people better control of their money. Powered by machine learning and AI technology, crafted with intelligence and passion in a human-centric startup culture.

As a Visual Designer you’ll work with the design and marketing teams to create campaigns, brand collateral and marketing communication.

You will be required to interpret and implement a creative vision across a broad range of projects, with timelines from the immediate to the long term. You will be typically creating visual and/or interaction elements, through a collaborative process with the wider creative team, whilst considering layout, imagery, typography and brand.

You will be working on email campaigns and microsites, social, digital and OOH campaigns, and event collateral. On top of this you will be helping to create and rollout assets and toolkits for our new Bud brand launching in 2019.

  • A portfolio reflecting a strong design sense and skills that extend beyond digital into branding, print, typography etc.
  • Excellent skills with modern design tools (Sketch, Adobe CS, etc).
  • Basic knowledge of usability and interaction design
  • Strong aesthetic skills, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • A keen interest in and excellent understanding of branding
  • Ability to take a design from concept through to completion.
  • Comfortable sketching and wireframing new concepts
  • Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary skilled teams.
  • Excellent communicator for sharing ideas & knowledge with colleagues.
  • We would be thrilled if you also have an interest or experience in: Motion design & illustration.
  • A passion for digital and a strong awareness of design trends, technology and the future direction of design.
  • Degree in design, HCI or or similar is beneficial.
  • An interest or awareness of the FinTech market is beneficial.


You’ll be entitled to the standard holidays + all bank holidays + office closed between Christmas & New Years Eve

The salary package includes a contributory pension to match up to 5% of the salary, and Bud will also pay for a Gym membership for the local gym.


You’ll be given a budget for a brand new MacBook (or similar), and/or computer accessories so you’ll have the best tools for the job.

Hours & flexibility

Standard hours are 9:30 am to 6 pm, however as part of our high-performance team, youll benefit from the flexibility to manage your own day to optimise the way you work to be at your best.


We’re big on keeping Bud a social team, so Christmas and Summer parties can be a big deal. We’ll also organise sports events, music gigs and after-work meet-ups.


Bud’s new office is a newly renovated space, specifically designed to our needs. Cool interior, breakout spaces, professional meeting rooms, brand new kitchen and a shower room for our part-time athletes.
